One of the first preserved heritage lines in the country, the Bluebell Railway boasts one of the finest collections of vintage steam locomotives and carriages. We venture across the Welsh border and visit Ross-on-Wye, a historic town perched above the River Wye. Later in the day we visit The Dean Forest Railway which runs along part of the old Severn & Wye Railway lines, and was first built as a tramroad over 200 years ago. The current railway line is approximately 4½ miles long, running from Lydney Junction Station at the south end of the line to Parkend at the north end of the line. The main station of the railway is located at Norchard, in the middle of the line, where you will find a shop, museum and café. As we steam through the beautiful and ancient Dean Forest we enjoy a tasty cream tea

A morning stop in Lyndhurst, the largest village in the New Forest, before we travel to Exbury Gardens, which is world famous for the Rothschild collection of Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Camellias. We include a delightful journey aboard the narrow-gauge steam railway. The trains travel on an extended 1.5 mile track through the gardens, meandering through the Summer Lane Garden before skirting past the Rock Garden, travelling through the tunnel and then stopping off at Exbury North. The return journey includes a loop around Dragonfly Pond, where passengers can watch out for wildlife, before heading back to Exbury Central.
